Who Is Tal

Hello!

It’s great to meet you, and I’m so glad to have you here.

They say everyone in the world has a purpose.
Some people know their purpose right away, while many others are still searching.

I can’t say for certain what my purpose is in life, but what I do know for sure is that part of it is to give to others.

Every article, every tip, every experience I write comes from the heart, from the gut, and from my own desire to give to you and share with you my insights, tips, and updates, both on my personal expertise in the digital world and on my personal experiences, thoughts and productions I take part in or bring together. I recommend people and notable points in my journey through life, I find worth sharing and mentioning.

I am here to take you out of your comfort zone, guide you a little, share with you a little, and help each and every one of you get to where you need to be to succeed in business and build the life you want and love for yourself.

Much like the life I’ve built for myself.

I want to tell you a little bit about myself, so that you can fully understand – every person can become the best version of him or herself to fulfill their dreams.

If I made it – Anyone can…

To get to the point where I am doing what I love and learn, I had to walk through a difficult path.

Why am I telling you this? So that you can truly understand, anyone can fulfill their dreams.

I discovered my love for the online world back during my military service, in 1999 as a computers and communication training officer, in the search and rescue unit of the Home Front Command, when the internet was still in its infancy.

In 2001, two weeks after completing my service, I spread my wings and took on the great wide world, relocating to New York City. There, I worked in a travel agency for two years, gaining experience and knowledge of working with clients, learning the English language, getting used to office work and paperwork, closing flight deals and managing suppliers. I enjoyed my time there but I never felt satisfied or fulfilled.

In 2006 I met someone (who would go on to be my husband and then my ex-husband) through a social media website I was active on (MySpace). Back then the website was quite popular and I moved to an island in the Caribbean where I started my online business, even though until that point the internet for me had only been a tool to contact my family and friends back home and around the world. I finally learned through my own experience what independence felt like, and it was intoxicating.

Insights along the way – Emotions motivate action

It hasn’t always been easy for me.

I suddenly realized what it meant waking up in the morning and worrying about a constant flow of clients to make ends meet. There were times I thought about giving up. I saw everyone around me finish school, and move on in life with “grown-up” jobs, so I considered whether I might be on the wrong path.

But still, I never gave up.

I taught myself all there is to know about the online world of digital marketing, as well as about the psychological world of people and clients who are not always satisfied. I learned to separate emotions from business (okay, that one took me longer to learn, truth be told), and I realized that emotions don’t necessarily have to be a bad thing – because they motivate me into action – and even when things get rough, I must keep on marching and not give up on myself.

In 2006 I opened a digital marketing business, for promoting businesses on social media. I’ve been working on promoting websites and partner projects online since the early days of MySpace and Facebook, learning more as I go.

I taught myself everything using the internet and articles written by Ken Eboy, a guide in the field of web design and small online businesses and founder of SBI.com.

In 2008 I moved to Florida, where I started studying Business Management at Everglades University in Boca Raton, not far from Delray Beach where I lived.

What doesn’t kill you, makes you stronger – Not just a cliché, my life crisis

In 2009 my life was turned upside down, and all my dreams were crushed.

My mother became ill with a rare form of cancer and I left my life and business all the way abroad and moved back home for 6 months. Her life and my family life changed completely. Hospitals, difficult treatment regimens, emotional crisis and the like, were all part of the daily struggle. After a grueling period of 6 months she passed away.

A new beginning

I was distraught. I moved back to Israel with no business, no mother, no life, and if that wasn’t enough, I was going through a harrowing divorce process and I didn’t even own a bank account nor have I ever paid rent in this country.

I simply had to start over using the knowledge and skill I have accumulated through my studies and old business abroad.

What now?

Since that time, I’ve stayed in Israel. I never gave up and never let myself sink into a state of depression.

In 2010 I joined Adler-Chomsky advertising agency, where I established and ran the social media department. My work included building marketing strategies, content management and ongoing activities for brands/companies through the tools of social media.

But still, I wasn’t fulfilled.

In 2011 I spread my wings and moved on once more to make my own path independently. So I found and opened Sumo College, a Social Media Marketing College, training hundreds of businesses and organizations on social media.

Tal 2.0

Today, after years of experience with the online world, I am more qualified and skilled than ever, providing expertise and tools in the digital fields, while leading my life on whichever path I chose, including occasional trips, projects and hobbies, and making sure to enjoy the journey just as much as the goals and destinations I set for myself along the way.

He who says he can and he who says he can’t – are both usually right

Because what guides us in life – is us.
It is our credo, our attitude towards life.
It all depends on the paths we choose to take. Sometimes we falter along the way. Things won’t always be simple. Things don’t always go your way.

The secret to success is perseverance.
Not to give up.
If you fall – get up.
Get up, and keep on.

There is no reason not to live this life to the fullest.
There is no reason not to fulfill your dreams.

All you need is faith in yourself and persistence in your own way.
And of course, a little inspiration and motivation can’t hurt – And that’s what I am here for.

Yours truly,

Tal.
